Meet Grace to find out a little more about her apprenticeship experience
Let's find out a little more about her...
Who is your employer?
Lloyd's, the world's leading specialist insurance market.
What have you been working on since the start of your apprenticeship?
For the past 5 months, I have been acting project manager for the Brexit Team working for the Lloyd’s Brussels subsidiary. The objective of my team is to make Lloyd’s Brussels both systematically and financially independent, so it can take over our European business when we leave the European Union.
I have been leading meetings, delegating work, keeping portfolios up to date and communicating with employees around Europe.
I have been revising for my Cert CII and have been doing additional work to receive an apprenticeship qualification.
I have become involved in the CAN campaign, in which I will soon have a title regarding looking after the social media blog.
Soon I will be rotating to my second placement where I will join an underwriting team for Credit & Political Risk.
During the Christmas period I also drove a Christmas Box appeal to collect toys for children living in poverty in Africa and Asia, and created 37 boxes full of toys and £120
How have you found your apprenticeship?
I have been given a lot of responsibilities
I have made so many new contacts and built up great relationships
I have been able to personally develop and prove my capabilities
I have created a close group of friends with the other apprentices where we support each other.
